Bonn Climate Change Conference (SB 60)

Rio Impact attended the Bonn Climate Change Conference (SB 60) this week, to moderate the first training events forming part of a Joint Capacity-Building Programme on synergies between the three Rio Conventions, under the leadership of UNFCCC, CBD, and UNCCD secretariats. 🌿🤝With a climate classroom in collaboration with UNCC:Learn and
#Youth4Capacity, a test training, and a side-event jointly organized by the 3 conventions’ secretariats and UNDESA.

Many thanks to all partners who provided comments and feedback on ways to reinforce capacity-building for synergies. 🙌 💬

The topic is of high importance, as synergies mean:

– More efficient national processes, saving resources that can be allocated to implementation 💼🌍
– Stronger coordination between national focal points and their teams, addressing trade-offs 🤝
– Increased funding opportunities rewarding multiple outcomes for biodiversity, land and climate benefits 💸🌱
